In the early 1930’s, Patricia Pendleton's great uncle discovered a formula dating back to the early 1900s for creating a safe and natural pain relieving salve. In 1982, Ms. Pendleton’s father painstakingly perfected the original 1902 formula and went door to door in the Amish communities of Central Ohio, selling the product as Unker’s Medicated Salve (the name coming from from a young family member who could not pronounce the word "uncle"). Intended to provide relief from deep muscle aches and pains as well as eczema, psoriasis, and a multitude of other symptoms, Unker’s Medicated Salve grew in popularity and today is available in stores and from individual distributors throughout the United States.
After her father's death, Ms. Pendelton took over the family business in 2010. Based in Cincinnati, Olde Tyme Remedies LLC’s product line includes a sanitizing mist and natural soap. All are chemical free and made using only high quality pure essential oils. Ms. Pendelton, who worked in human resources for 23 years before joining the company, says that in searching old records, she could not find a single instance of a customer-requested refund.
